An Adventure Begun

This adventure of your late Fall – early Winter has begun, o son, and it is about time you found a place and sought some of My counsel. I can teach you through the earlier writings as you reread and analyze them, but know also that I have new insights to offer… at least every few days. Your awareness and appreciation thus far are quite acceptable, but My observations can add another important dimension.

Yes, o son, it is I, the Spirit of the Everpresent God, who speak to you of life as an adventure. You shall see, ever more clearly, that the nature of any experience is of little consequence to Me. The value is in what you do… more importantly, how you are… what you learn, particularly of Me… and that you see My Hands being evidenced in recurring or apparently fresh and new ways.

You have dedicated this trip-adventure to Me, in a way, for you are desirous of enacting some spiritual principles and assessing the results. Continue in the resolve to let nothing “get you down” but adapt to each situation as it develops. I liked the little carved cross, and you heard My suggestion that this become a regular practice with you – in situations that seem to be wasting time and being fruitless, carve a cross and appreciate, as you do so, the significance of the event. I am one for tangible manifestation as a means of remembering. The cross is the prime symbol for remembrance.

The most dramatic event so far was, obviously, your experience with life and death last evening. It was an opportunity to serve and to be of help, and you and Matthew responded well. Mike’s life was gone from his body when you began, but it was a service to his boys and to Me. Yes, it would have been more beautifully dramatic if you could have revived him, but it was not possible, given all circumstances. Yes, you should review thoroughly the CPR procedures. This could even be a stimulus for you and Matthew to take the course and learn well the procedure. You knew you were not as well-prepared as you should, even could, have been. If there should be a “next time” you could be a more effective servant.
