Changes In The Body

Aging is one of the processes of life that you are now experiencing. It is only one, but it eventually becomes an important one. Aging is a natural process, which is part of the natural world I have created. I decided that earth life should be about three score and ten years, on the average, and that there should be an aging process. Medical science can “play God” and tamper with this in some effective ways, but I declare that aging is still one of My processes.

One of the clear evidences of aging is changes in the body. You were told yesterday you had some cells that should be removed. It is possible that your body has aged sufficiently so that such cells grow more readily. This is of minor consequence, but it is an evidence of the aging process. Your body becomes less able to adapt in all the ways it once could, making it more vulnerable to changes that are not healthy.

You feel that control of your weight is less easy as you age. And yet you see your parents, a generation older, having apparently little trouble with this physical aspect. In fact, your Mother, quite plump when she was your age, is now decidedly frail, perhaps dangerously frail for continued functioning in life. Thus, I say do the best you can, maintaining some of your willpower, but realize that an apparent problem in one portion of life is not one in another.

You have not experienced any great loss of muscle strength, that loss that coms with aging. Continue to exercise your muscles and work your body, for this is the best means of maintaining muscle strength and postponing, at least, the loss of strength, flexibility, and endurance that comes with aging. Use it… and you’ll keep it as long as possible.

Blood pressure is a bodily function that may change during the aging process. On occasions yours has been dangerously high. Yesterday it was wonderfully normal. But will it remain thus, or will it rise again, endangering life and health because of an aging circulatory system? Your Father’s blood pressure is considerably lower than yours, but he has no stresses other than your Mother’s health and his own struggle with the aging process. I urge you to continue in some stressful aspects of professional life, but I expect you to “manage” your blood pressure until pressures naturally abate.

Some bodies have natural defects, and others can adapt to the external environments they are in only for so many years. Yet I say that the power of mind and, particularly, of spirit can “neutralize” harmful changes in the body. A genuine attitude of caring and sharing, and a continuing relationship with Me are powerful counters to the bodily aging process.

When you have a sense of the continuation of life and the continuation of growth and development of spirit which is not basically affected by changes in the body, even death, then you have the best antidote to destructive changes. Your main loss in the changes of aging is your hearing, and you now know it is time to acknowledge that loss, and yet do all you can to compensate for it. Use the aid you have and be ready for an improvement in this technology. Yes, do begin to tell classes about this loss, and have them help so that you are more aware of all that you should be.

Spiritually, you have the means for a long, fulfilling life. The changes in your spirit over the last ten years have been more powerfully positive than the negative changes in your body. Shape your actual behavior more and more toward the truth that you have enunciated in this current Ruminations. Worry not about the consequences of your work, whatever it may be. Give of yourself, and let the consequences be Mine. You shall accomplish more and experience less stress.
