Diverse Spirituality

SAT., MAY 28, 1994, 6:50 AM
FARM, STUDY

It was cool yesterday afternoon as the sun settled behind the trees, but the class group remained and listened to one another as stories were told. It was a revelation of diverse experiences in relation to your Wellspring, from quite natural to very supernatural, and with combinations of these. This was not a surprise to you, but it was gratifying to hear each willingly speak. The interaction is developing as it should.

It seems clear that you should tell your own story, the one of thee and Me. You should have a Ruminations for each, as an example, and so you should decide as to which. Your main candidates are the ones on the Mystical and on Spiritual Health, but you might consider some others, as well. You will be surprised if there aren’t several who want to be regular readers from now on. Slowly you are coming out of the closet, and this is another step. Be both bold and careful as you take it.

I encourage and I like diverse spirituality. This doesn’t prevent Me from having a generally favorite path, and to you I attest that this is Christianity. I am the Triune God, and I love those who come to Me, as the Creator and Sustainer God, as the Christ Who gave My life for you all, and as the Holy Spirit Who works here in the earth when, where, and with whom I please. But even in this context the ways of interpreting Me and of approaching Me are certainly diverse, and I see no point in indicating one favorite path.

Your class shall hear a good Moslem servant of Mine tell of His faith and how it is important in the lives of many folk on this earth. In this view of earth and spirit I am One God only, with prophets that show the way and a Book that has much of the power and authority of the Bible. I listen to the frequent prayers of these devout people, for I am their Allah, without question.

The religions of Africa and Asia are diverse, some very natural, some quite mystic. Some focus on the world that can be experienced through sight, sound, touch, and smell. Others deny the reality of all of this, even of time, space, and the natural causes of disease and others of life’s “downers”. In all of these I am a part, even when I am barely invited and acknowledged.

But did I not encourage Christian missionaries to bring the message of Jesus the Christ to pagan peoples, in the past, and even now? Of course, and many of these have served Me well, and have introduced Christianity in ways that have made it permanent. And still some clung to their “old ways” and continued to come to Me in non-Christian ways. And I continue to hear these.
