Earthquake

An earthquake is a feature of earth life that you might well wonder about. If I created the earth, as I did, then why was it created so that quakes would develop and precious human lives would be lost. For most of your life you have lived on or quite near a fault from which a quake shall come. You do need to hear My perspective on this cause of potential disaster.

There has been much scientific study of this planet earth, and this has produced much good understanding. Still, understanding is an individual matter, and each human has only so much capacity to understand. Additional scientific knowledge can be absorbed by only a few, and these lack understanding in other areas. Since the human is My ultimate creation I must be responsible for this limit in understanding. I must say, then, that it is good that understanding of the earth and the myriad interactions that take place in order to maintain balance is limited. Just know that I see it all clearly, and the structure that occasionally results in earthquakes is the right one.

I need not explain this to you, for you haven’t the background to comprehend what I could tell you. Suffice it to say that it is more dangerous to live in certain areas of the planet than in others. As humans congregate in these areas and build the structures that are possible and necessary the danger increases. And yet dangers are a vital part of earth life. Dangers make life interesting, and when you know that any life experience (except, perhaps, boring sameness) can be one from which spiritual growth ensues, you should have little fear of potential dangers.

If the earth should quake in this area there are many places you could be that would post little danger. There are a few places that could be quite dangerous, and of these you should be aware. Then your immediate action could be important. If you survived with little or no injury you could be immediately thankful, for I may have been involved in some way in your good fortune. If you are truly thankful then you should feel that I have intervened for a purpose, and you should immediately begin to help those who have not been fortunate. The wonderful aspect of any disaster such as an earthquake is the demonstration of caring and helping of humans toward one another. Such evidences of spirit can make a disaster “quite worthwhile,” in My view.

There are many “balancings” of the earth and the life theron which do not appear to be beneficial to certain individual humans. Individual human lives are precious, but they are also part of an ecosystem which is eternally rebalancing. Human activities and just the number of humans are major causes of the “unbalancings” that finally must be righted. I do a few miraculous rescues, but I generally find it better to let natural “balancings” happen and then be part of the “recovery.”

Yes, I could prevent an earthquake from occurring at a particular time, but if the earth must move (for reasons you cannot comprehend) then one time is no more dangerous than another… or… more dangerous for some and less for others. A quake during the morning class hours might be best for you, while one during the evening hours might be better for most students. Am I interested in numbers or in individuals? You see that decisions of this sort are oh so complex.

You see that the lives of your cattle in the pasture or of squirrels in the trees would be in less danger than yours in an earthquake. Yet the lives of the cattle are rather dependent on your actions. Safety in one respect is balanced by peril in another.
