Fall Season

The coolness of the air, the need for more clothing, and the carpet of leaves on the ground outside give evidence, o son, that this is the season of Fall. Of what importance is this in spiritual terms? Hear more of a muse than a teaching this morning as your part of the earth turns toward the sun.

In one sense Fall marks a diminishing of activity, a winding down from the busy summer and a transition to the slower rhythm of winter. Spiritually this should bring a time of reflection. You are reflecting on your drinking and its role as a joy and a sorrow in your life. Explore this beyond the fact of drinking itself. Sort your values and set goals accordingly. Yet know that this has a seasonal quality to it and should not be “settled” once and for all. Don’t give it more time and concern than it deserves.

This is not a time to leap forth into new projects, but a time to reflect on ones not yet finished and on some that shall develop in another season. The letter writing remains, as does the song writing. Another Ruminations should be forming, but that is still off a bit. Mulch leaves, gather wood, and keep the Farm neat… enjoy what is passing. Communicate this to others, for there is a wisdom to the seasons. Thanksgiving approaches, and then Advent… then the cold of winter. Appreciate each time more directly. You tend to let holidays and occasions come and go without the spiritual appreciation that one of your maturity should exhibit and enjoy. Worry not about your finances. Balance and juggle as best you. Learn anything positive you can from the time. Spend little time and energy fussing over the matters. Yet be responsible… and trust Me.

As your cattle are becoming dependent upon you for a season, so must you be more dependent on Me. This does not mean that you will not work and scrimp a little; that shall be necessary, and it has spiritual value. The rhythm is one of musing and yet being aware as opportunities come your way… maybe a bit difficult, but an interesting one, you will find, when you “get it right”.
