In Time Of Trouble, II
JANUARY 18, 1980, 5:29 AM
Welcome again, o son, in this early morning hour (for you). Let us talk again of your “trouble”, of what you have done, and of what you shall do hence. As you already see, this is no great crisis in your life, but it was something to which you were sensitive, and therefore it has served to focus your attention on deeper and more important things. Know that you are among the saints when you have to be reminded of Truths. All of My servants have succumbed, at times, to day to day troubles. When these concerns bring you back to Me I am pleased.
Your approach has been good. You thought it through, you came to Me, you have given time for perspective, you have talked with Don, and you have made some plans for modification in your classes. By the time you meet the class you shall have more perspective and a better sense of how this warning should affect your life, in total.
Know ye that your teaching style and approach must be changing to match the development in yourself that is coming. In one sense it will be new, but only in arrangement. For you, there really is almost nothing new under the sun. The new will be a rearrangement of approaches used in earlier times. Use your imagination. Involve students, but you are to be more involved than you have been. Update some past approaches. Devise anew. Yet remember ever that your overarching goal is to have learners recognize the spirit as a part of health. In whatever context you teach this shall be that toward which you aim. Think about the development of a course in spiritual health. That certainly can develop, but only as you develop the reality of it, course by course.
Your mind now whirls with possibilities. Isn’t this exciting? You even have a chance to change the death education course outline to reflect this “development”. Without this “trouble” you would have gone ahead with teaching just as you had done it. The changes are not radical, but they can be part of a movement toward awareness and fuller appreciation of the importance of the spirit as a basis for health.
I realize I, too, put too much before you to do. You must balance and must select. As I have told you before important things will recur. If you have chosen not to do something (or have done something else instead) there will be another time to do that important thing. The context may be different, but be aware of the rhythm. Few important things go by forever. You don’t just go around once!
You are responding well in this time of trouble. Always turn to Me. Seek My advice and counsel. Reset priorities. Know that your solid base shall not be cut away by any one incident. Yet know also that the edifice of your life and career are building still. Consider what to change and what to strengthen and build. Know that you will make “mistakes”, but everything can lead back to Me. Back to Me. Then on into living and doing. Back to Me. Until you realize that these need not be separate. Until you have truly reached this state of enlightened grace (note the combination) then “times of trouble” are necessary to bring you back. When this is no longer necessary… but you shall know when that has happened.
You have learned from this experience. Value it. Share the value with others. Recognize such times… but not too early. It is only as you genuinely feel the “trouble” in your soul that it can have its full effect.
Come again to learn, even in time of no trouble. I am happy to oblige. Wasn’t that an interesting time with Chris? As you are more aware you will experience (have) more of such experiences. Some of life’s best.
Balance those two experiences for the week. This was a week of real growth. There shall be more.
Shalom
