Lost… and “Be Still”

“Lost” is a theme that has been persistent this morning, but it seems to be joined to that “odd” one, “Be still and know that thou art God”. How can one “be” God and yet be lost? Relationships in the world of the Spirit are strange (yet wonderful), and we must be open to understand and appreciate what is, was, and will be.
If God dwells within me, then the directive me becomes lost. If I direct, plan, and execute, God at least seems to be lost. But that which is lost can be found (as in the game that started this writing). To find something is to lose something else. I found my manuscript, and I lost the fear and worry I had about its loss. I find the God in me, and I lose the need to be concerned, personally, for my life and its merit.
To be lost is to be in position to be found. To be lost is to be in a state of becoming… becoming a person who knows he is not lost. And yet to “be God” makes loss of self imminent… and makes one vulnerable to losing that relationship. As anything is found it is then, again, susceptible to being lost.
Being and becoming are not the same. To picture them as coexisting is to lose the rhythm of life. Yin is not yang, but is not better or worse than yang. Being lost is different from being God, but is not better or worse. The one makes the other possible, and then the other makes the one possible.
If something is lost, it still exists, but is just “out of sight”. So lost is a perception, to help establish the reality of rhythm. So be it.
Amen
