Mystical Christianity

I have taught you concerning the mystical as a part of this earth plane, and the Teaching you shall use this next Sunday tells of this as one of the fundamentals of My religion, Christianity. I have told you that you function, as you do this with Me, as at least a low-level mystic. So how about an entire Teaching that ties you, Christianity and the mystical together? Go for it, o son.

Christianity’s adaptability is evidenced as much by its acceptance as the major religion in your culture as in being espoused by mystics. Your culture is materialistic beyond imagining, and is committed to reason, rationality, and empirical proof. “Fundamental” Christianity holds firmly to the Scriptures, even to certain agreed-upon-interpretations of this story. It is important that Jesus is a true historical figure, identified through more objective means than the Bible. Your Christianity functions with a lot of doctrine, which is clearly more important than individual experiences with Me, as Holy Spirit, or with other spirits.

Even the “Full Gospel” groups that recognize, encourage, and even require mystical experiences, base the authenticity of these on Scripture, and therefore the “accepted gifts” come out pretty much as unwritten doctrine. Some of your Teachings (more accurately, My Teachings through you) are rejected because they don’t fit with certain interpretations and certain Scriptural passages… and doctrine therefrom. Your mystical writings do not pass the test of credibility.

Know, of course, that all mystics are suspect, and only a few are recognized and given any sizeable acceptance. I have indicated why your cultural standards and its upholders tend to reject mystical knowledge. Add to that those in the groups that accept spiritual gifts who believe, sometimes fiercely, in evil spirits, in competing spirits, and you have a pretty solid resistance to mystical knowledge that does not fit a pattern.

But enough of the negative. Hear as I explain and extol the mystical as a fundamental aspect of Christianity. Though the earth is a tangible physical plane of existence and though humans have a cerebral cortex that can develop, retain and utilize “reasonable knowledge”… nevertheless… the fundamental reality is, finally, spirit. Spirit existed before matter and shall survive when matter is no more. Spirit is more fundamental energy than that from the sun or that which has been stored and which runs your profligate nation. Spirit is what integrates the body and mind of each person. Spirit is more vital in determining who each one of you truly is than any other force.

And I, the Holy Spirit, am the fundamental Director of all of these spiritual manifestations. I am as active in lives and in the earth… and beyond… as I ever have been. As I have told you, only a smidgeon of My activity, however, is in changing the natural flow of life… and death. My activity is mainly in encouraging the growth of spirit, urging you back to relationship with Me. I speak anew. I interpret. I reinterpret. I comfort, so that sorrows, particularly unnecessary ones, will not hinder the fullest living of earth life.
