Here We are, o son, finally together for a session of teaching and learning. I won’t repeat My admonition of last week. Just know that this is an important part of your life and must not be shorted. There is no other source of learning that even comes close to this. And I am being humble.

Pains are part of earth life. You have had some, but much fewer than most. Earlier Teachings centered on this aspect of life, and specific pains were the basis for your first real Ruminations. Those were pains in your back and leg, the memory of which is blessedly dimmed. As you do physical chores here on this Farm you are appropriately aware of that potential weakness and the possible return of pain and disability. The stiffness you experience in the morning is vexing, but its disappearance with actual activity keeps you from returning to the exercises.

You have no pains or discomfort associated with your heart and no symptoms of high blood pressure except the often disconcerting numbers. You know of some preventive remedies, and I recommend that you develop these into habit. The more natural the approach, the more it is in My favor. I am not against the powerful medications of your culture, and I admit that they have great value in some cases, but I can’t resist the feeling that the Western world is trying too hard to improve upon My earth and its natural consequences. Your culture, with its artifacts and its penchant for preventing and easing pain and prolonging life by medical means has become, for some, a god, and My first commandment is that you shall have no other gods but Me.

Seek the remedies that are most natural. Know that this certainly includes changing aspects of your life away from the modern and easy. There is value in pain, and challenges to bring life into patterns more harmonious rather than relying on chemical remedies. There is much that you know or could know which you do not apply in your life. Be aware of this as you experience pain or require remedies.

The essence of prevention is an active spiritual life. The fundamental act is to have your hand in Mine and to see My influence in all events and happenings. Reading and studying Scripture is another means to spiritual growth. For you, the discipline of receiving these Teachings is a part of wellness… and then these can be reread and studied and used as the basis for this unique contribution of yours to spiritual health. When you write a Ruminations you are employing a remedy for many possible ills. Then many who read what you write shall be benefitted, even without realization.

Prayer is important, and I shall never cease to recommend this spiritual practice. An important attitude, overall, is seeing the world through spiritual eyes. When you do this successfully, you see My influences, and you see the beauty of this earth plane, including the pains that are vital to life here.
