Reflections On A Day

SAT., FEB. 18, 1984, 8:09 AM
WALTON’S, ST. PETE

This is the morning after a worthwhile and pleasing day, one that will be even more valuable with some reflections of Mine. Yes, I was with you, heard your several prayers, and accepted what you offered to Me. Of course there always is room for improvement, and improvement is one of the major continuing opportunities of life. You are comfortable in hearing Me, o son, and in accepting My suggestions for life as it continues.

You had held some apprehension about these presentations of yesterday, and it is good that you did. This pushed you to prepare, although the preparation was slightly excessive. You did, however, let your spirit be a relative director, and this was the main reason for your success. For what you do for the rest of your career there MUST be a spiritual dimension and quality, if you and I are to be satisfied. Realize in advance that this will not satisfy those who are enamored of content, and some will be critical. Remember that it is desirable to be criticized for doing what is right to do… what is pleasing to Me.

Your presentation on death had a nice balance to it… organization, printed material, visuals, songs, humor, and personal stories. Knowing a bit more about why you were doing what was assigned would have given you the basis for a better balance. In the future, ask what the reasons are for wanting a particular presentation. You have many resources, and you can use them more wisely. You see that it also is time to have some visuals made for this topic. It won’t take long, and better quality in this adjunct will be appreciated by those who come to learn.

It appeared that your involvement in the alcohol and drug area was about over, and now there is a bit of a resurgence. Accept that, and keep yourself relatively current in this important field. You have many resources here… the need is not to develop anew, but to use, wisely and creatively what you have. Remember that this is a good avenue for bringing in spirit. You did this rather well yesterday, and if you somewhat more conscious of the opportunities you can be even more effective. Just remember that your major teaching goal, for the rest of your career, is to encourage the inclusion of spirit as a factor in health… in people’s thinking and perceptions of reality and in their own subsequent teaching. I want you to know this, with assurance, and I want you to be more conscious of it as a persistent goal, but yet I don’t want you to try overhard to be spiritual. Just plan in some spiritual “content” and then be sure and let your own spirit be the guide in what you do as teacher.
