Spirit Is…

Yes, o son, spirit is… the essence of life and of every important life experience. For some, still a relative few in each generation and each culture, it would be fair to say that spirit is part of every life experience, but this requires real spiritual maturity and a culture (or sub-culture) that encourages such a view.

Spirit is… both the principal focus of your upcoming workshop and the major criterion for deciding on the best activities for this “course.” You’re quite aware of how students react and respond to a variety of teaching learning approaches, and so let your spirit be quite a part of the choice process. Don’t plan, specifically, more than 2 days ahead, and be willing to make changes that seem “right” even on the day of a class. There must be a spiritual rhythm to this experience, led by you, but not dominated by your personality.

Spirit is… communicated to you through these Teachings. You, then, take some of these and fashion them into a Letter called Ruminations. There will be an opportunity (or more) to share this that We do together with this class group. Your spirit, abetted by your mind and emotions, must decide whether this should be done at all… if so, when?… and, to what extent? It would be an “unveiling” that could cause you some trouble…and… or… it could identify you as one whose “authority” in this realm of spirit is not just academic. The appreciation you would get would be worth the risk… but you decide.

Spirit is… abstract and personal. This morning you have had two experiences with individual students. In each of these the spirit was a strong factor, as you communicated directly with each, as a part of a natural but specific conversation. You also heard, from one, about how your contribution to the Survival class, in the large lecture format, touched her spirit and that of at least one other student. From the other, you heard of how the class around the table out at the Farm was very meaningful. Continue to take time with individual learners… and know that what you do with groups can also be seen as spiritual, particularly if you are at least somewhat aware of the opportunities.

Spirit is… a definite part of these Wednesday morning breakfast/Bible study sessions. You each know who “belongs” in the total group, so even if Harry misses several in a row, he is fully a part of the “family” whenever he is there. You must call Win and wish her well with her upcoming surgery, for she both brings and takes spirit, when she can be amongst you. You could be discussing anything (and sometimes you do go off on tangents), but the Scriptural base of your interchanges is the best guarantee of spirit being a part of the experience… because…

Spirit is… inherent in the portions of Scripture that you read, study, write about, and discuss. Am I, as Almighty God, One to be feared, One who easily feels anger against you because of your sins, the open and the “secret” ones? Your response, from your now more than 15 years of coming to Me in the “meditative” way, is that this is not your experience with Me, but do these verses still contain some mystical, spiritual truth? Is it important that you acknowledge that I can be angry and that I want you to fear Me? Ponder this.
