The Holy Spirit

Attention! Hear, o son. Listen to the voice that cannot be distinguished in the ear, but that comes with clearness through the spirit. John, the disciple, remembered the story I, as Jesus, told of the coming of the Holy Spirit, and his Gospel includes that important prediction. So, this morning, I shall affirm again that this meditation to which I have called you is a time of listening to Me, that very same Holy Spirit.

You knew you were to come and write this morning, but you did not select the theme, and you do not determine the content. The words themselves are partly yours and partly Mine… and I leave the writing style to be almost entirely yours. We are Teacher and learner in a time of meditative learning. We also are partners in bringing these insights and admonitions that I give to you into a small portion of the earth plane. You shall not know, as you are writing, whether the morning’s Teaching will be one that you shall use in your small class, one that shall be of assistance to some individuals in your acquaintance (or to some you do not know), or one just for your own instruction. I know this intended utilization more than you do, but some uses just develop, and even I am somewhat surprised… and often delighted.

I, the Holy Spirit, am everpresent in the earth, influencing in more ways than you can imagine. Is the earth out of My control? Not a bit of it. Yes, there is suffering and need, but there are lessons to be learned in many such situations… and opportunities galore for compassionate service. All that Jesus experienced, I experienced (for we are separate, yet one), and there was a good deal of rejection and some physical suffering.

I am with those who suffer and do not seem to succeed with life tasks. I am with your friend, and Mine, Bob Hammond as he struggles with the management of his life. He has taken a path away from his abilities, and he has not listened diligently enough to Me. He wants to, but he also has wanted to chart his own course. Now he has a chance for realignment, and I am available as a helper. The lives of each of his family members are intertwined, so that each has something to learn from and something to teach to each of the others. They are not likely to emerge as the All-American family, but they are an arena, in themselves, for much spiritual growth.

You prepared the Teaching for Denise as she requested. At the time of that writing she was in a sad turmoil. Her spirit was sorely tested, but she is a “good learner,” and she has come forth from this two years of independent living as one with a stronger spirit and a better sense of self. As I have told you before, one well-traveled path to enlightenment and at-onement with Me requires that the individual develop a healthy sense of self as a means (yes, a somewhat strange one) of giving up that self for the spiritual state that is simply better. Denise now goes into a new relationship, which must not be a substitute for one that apparently failed. This is a new one for a stronger Denise, who should still be capable of loving David and others in the life they shared. Love is best when it encompasses, not when it excludes.
