This “Modern” World

In your Christian tradition I came to “completeness” 2,000 or so years ago. I have been Yahweh, the Almighty God, “forever,” and as Holy Sprit I have been here also “from the beginning.” As Jesus I was born as a Jewish baby, even as My Christ-spirit has “always been.” The Holy Scriptures cover several thousand years, but they are completed shortly after My “death,” as Jesus.
Hence, the Christian tradition holds that all that is necessary for right living, in any time and place and circumstance, is included in these Scriptural Books. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever… and hence human life must be “the same,” also.
But much has happened here in the earth since these “official” Scriptures “came to an end.” There has been much “progress,” and you… and I, Holy Spirit… live in a “modern” world. Oh, I have many servants who hear Me, who speak and write in terms, modern. Yet none of this is OFFICIAL… as these Teachings are not… and so you Christians must try to discern directions for living in this earth scene from Scriptures that were relevant to quite a different “scene.” It can be done, but your culture’s fascination with and commitment to newness and change makes it difficult.
Let’s consider, first, this thing that We do together. You write with a ballpoint pen, and when the ink runs out you insert a new “cartridge” and write for many more days. (More “modern” pens are just disposable. When they’re dry, throw them away!) At the time even the latest portions of the Bible were written, there were pens, but the process was slower. And, if you were younger and more “modern” (like Andrea) you’d sit at a keyboard and type what I say to you so that it appears on a screen…and then can be printed, quickly and beautifully.
Now, of course, I have to adapt to these differences also. I come to you at just about your speed of writing. I can come to Andy, and other more “modern” hearers in a faster pace… as her times to start and finish indicate. You have little desire to speed this process up, particularly now that you are firmly Emeritus.
So… how do I feel about “getting things done faster”? Obviously I am, personally, outside of time and space, so it isn’t of much concern to Me. I see some advantages in speed, but I am not particularly committed to it as a prime value. And, at your age, there is less and less benefit in “doing things faster.” You have time, in most instances, to do what is necessary, or what you want, at a slower pace.
This morning you had a pre-made crown mounted on the remains of a rooted tooth, by a skilled, well-trained dentist. There were no trained dentists in Biblical times, but also less of the foods which cause tooth problems. The teeth you had were to last “a lifetime.” (Don’t ask about Methuselah!) Biblical folk didn’t know what they were “missing,” and hence lived fully, for and in their time.
Life now is just at the beginning of the “computer age.” Many processes can be done in a much shorter time, but there is also a growing dependence on these machines. They can and will prevent and solve some problems, but they will create others. Many of you will benefit. Others will be harmed.
You, personally, are about as far “into” the “modern” world as you need to be. You shall have to decide about cancer-related operations… vs… letting your body live as long as it can with, basically, its own resources. (You’ve already decided against protecting yourself from the rays of the sun, that can both tan, as you wish, and cause harm)
